Paper Thin Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna Review
After experiencing consistent pixelated/blocky images and audio drop-outs on a few channels that we were interested in watching, we recently ordered the Mohu Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna to see if it would help improve our reception. I was previously using an indoor RCA flat antenna with an amplifier and a 3-way splitter to divide the signal between 3 televisions. Most of the channels available in our area had moderate to good reception using the previous antenna, but there were three channels in particular that were next to impossible to receive consistently and clearly on any of our TV’s, regardless of how the antenna was oriented. After reading many other positive reviews of the Mohu Leaf on Amazon.com and other websites, we decided to order it. When we first received the Paper Thin Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna, I admit I was a bit skeptical that it would be able to improve our reception because of it’s seemingly simple design and small size. It appears no thicker or larger than a laminated piece of printer paper. However, as I learned after installing it, looks can be deceiving. In this case, that’s a very good thing!
I am pleased to say that once I replaced our antenna with the Mohu Leaf(in exactly the same place and position on our wall as the previous antenna), the reception of those troublesome stations was strong and there was no longer any break-up of the picture and/or sound on those channels. The reception of the other channels we receive also improved significantly. We are now receiving all of the stations that are available in our area according to antennaweb.org, including the sub-stations. A total of 35 channels in all! The Mohu Leaf is outperforming all of the many previous indoor antennas I have tried. Granted, we are within 30 miles of all of the broadcast transmitters of the channels we are receiving, but one of the more noticable advantages of the Leaf over other indoor antennas we have tried is that it is multi-directional. It does not need to be constantly adjusted or re-oriented when we change channels. That is a major convenience! All said, I couldn’t be happier with this product. I encourage anyone who is in need of a superior indoor antenna to give the Mohu Leaf a try. Read more in my Paper Thin Leaf Indoor HDTV Antenna Review.
